Keep the electricity you make. Use it when you need it.
A battery stores the solar you don't use during the day so you can run the house on it in the evening, and charges cheaply overnight on an off-peak tariff. Choose 6 kWh for a typical home or 9 kWh for a bigger house, an EV or a heat pump.

See our pricesHow battery storage works
You generate in the day. Your panels carry on as normal, and the house uses what it needs.
You store the excess. Energy you'd otherwise sell for a few pence goes into the battery instead.
You use it at night. When the sun goes down the house runs on the battery rather than the grid.

Block out blackouts, with a home battery.
With the backup gateway, your system kicks in the moment the power goes, keeping the lights, the fridge and the Wi-Fi on.
Save your energy. If you've got solar, store what you don't use for when the sun goes down.
Sell your energy. Or export it when the price is high, rather than giving it away.
Cut your bills. Solar and a battery together can cut a home's electricity bill by as much as 90%.

Battery storage FAQs
Got a questionWhich size do I need?
6 kWh suits most homes using up to about 4,000 kWh a year. Go to 9 kWh if you charge an EV at home, have a heat pump, or use a lot in the evening.
Will it work in a power cut?
Only with the backup gateway, which isolates your home from the grid and keeps selected circuits running. It's a £1,000 add-on.
